Do I need Cloud to use Own Auth?
No. Own Auth is a standalone open-source library. Cloud is the optional managed dashboard, security, analytics, email, and SMS layer.
What happens when I hit the free tier limit?
Managed email and SMS sending stops with the quota_exhausted error. Authentication in your app keeps working, and the limit resets at the start of the next month.
Is there a per-user or per-seat charge?
No. Cloud plans use monthly active users and managed email and SMS volume, not dashboard seats.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and you keep your quota until then.
What counts as an email?
Every authentication email Cloud sends on your behalf, including magic links, verification, password resets, and organisation invites. Cloud account and usage alerts do not count.
Do you offer annual billing?
Not yet. All plans are billed monthly.
